Wool, Wiltshire and All Manner of Wonderful Things!

Unraveled Wednesday

This odd looking thing will actually one day be Cinderella.

What we have here is the kitchen maid dress under construction. I think it’s too long, it’s certainly too wide on the waist but I can gather it up a bit if needed.I have the circumference of the body right so I will leave it for now and finish the ball gown which needs 12 roses knitting each with two leaves. This really is the fun bit. And this is the book I read in a very short space of time, it’s so good.

If you are in the States I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving, for the rest of us, may your Christmas crafting go well.

  1. Can’t wait to see this doll finished – her outfit is so fun!

  2. What fun! I can’t wait to see those roses and leaves! Happy Christmas Making!

  3. Cinderella is taking form!

    • She is indeed. I can never do the faces till I have the hair, which is the opposite way to the instructions. Always the one who has to be different

  4. I admire your determination to knit (and finish) those fiddly knits….toys/animals (apart from those little teddys I made…but they were all in one) have never been on my radar. Sure as fate I’d lose parts, knit them again and they’d reappear. I’m really looking forward to seeing Ciders in her ball gown.

That is a very fiddly pattern but I am sure she will be beautiful and much loved so worth every stitch.

  6. That looks like a lot of work but I know it will be worth it in the end. I have so much to get read that I don’t even know where to start. But most has to wait until after all the holidays. My list always grows longer rather than shorter. My own worst enemy. 😉 Thanksgiving will be easy this year, again. Take care of yourself.

  7. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished doll 🙂
