Snow Sunday

All it took was a bit of snow and everyone was so happy- sledging, snowmen, blokes showing off, dogs doing mad circular runs, and us quieter types with our cameras, everyone was so happy- it won’t take much to resume normal when we are able, we are all so poised for the off. Enjoy my walk..

  1. I love these photos and I got a little bit of a chill looking at them from all that snow! I love the contrast of the little red berries against the snow. I hope the blokes showing off didn’t hurt themselves Ha Ha Ha Ha

This is beautiful. It has been so snowy in Chicago – I have to remind myself to see how lovely it is instead of just complaining about the shoveling 😊

  3. How beautiful – before it washes away or changes to slush!

  4. Gorgeous snowy scenery!

  5. I always think it’s odd how snow on bare tree branches always makes photos look monochrome. I love the red berries in the last shot, they really stand out against the snow 🙂

  6. Stunning photographs of wonderful, moody weather. I love seeing the snow when no one has to drive to work in it. My dog loved the snow too and would run those circles you mentioned. Rain was always another matter. Couldn’t be prettier. We’ve had no snow this winter.

    • It’s the only bit we have had this Winter, and so good that it fell on a sunday when everyone could go out and enjoy themselves.

  7. Thank you for sharing these snow pictures! Gorgeous!

  8. You’re right about everyone being ready for the off! The indomitable human spirit 😊

  9. I had some very similar photos from my brother in Somerset, where snow is supposedly rather rare! That leaden sky is deeply alarming to someone to whom that colour means Cyclone coming!

    • No cyclone, and today we have blue skies and a few heaps of fallen snowmen and sledge marks through the grass- snow is nearly all gone.

  10. We woke up to some yesterday morning too but, luckily, it didn’t carry on as the roads around here are difficult enough without any added challenges.
I hope you’re right about our ability to bounce back when we can – it cheered me up to read that anyway.

  11. Beautiful photos Cathy. No snow here, but a gorgeous pink dawn.
I love your description of the snow frolics you observed in your neighbourhood.

    • It was a wonderful way to start the day, and I really can’t express how much it lifted everyone’s mood- all walking around with silly grins on our faces.

  12. The world always looks so pretty with a new blanket of snow. 😍

  13. That is beautiful! And I am happy it is in your neighborhood and not in mine 😊

Looks fabulous. You got more than us.

    • It was transformative- especially the way everyone re-acted to it- the smiles on faces, the cheery greetings and the conversations between strangers. And we all kept to safe distances.

People need a change, something different to do. Snow was perfect distraction for many

  15. Ohhh, how beauiful! We had snow last night, too, but it didn’t stick … This is all so, so pretty. Did you stop to feel the texture, like, is it grippy?

  16. You got more than us! We did get a little though, left a bit of slush in places. Beautiful to see the snow on all those trees.

    • It was marvellous- one hours worth of snow, between 8 and 9 in the morning- I went out straightaway to enjoy the snow when it was still fresh- so did a lot of other people.

  17. Doesn’t the snow transform everything for the better. Fab photos. Love those pops of colour at the end. 🙂

  18. Very pretty 🙂 We haven’t had any this weekend – but we had enough a week ago!

  19. What a beautiful walk today, Cathy! Snow does such lovely things to landscapes and people. ❤️
Is that last a roan (did I spell it properly?) tree with berries?
