Little bit of cooking

Chocolate cake for Mr B and Mrs G

Cooking apples from Mrs T’s Nans’ garden

Rhubarb from Tessa’s small holing because I said I found it hard to pick the rhubarb in this garden because it didn’t feel like mine- I know I am being ridiculous.

All stewed and going in the freezer for winter- beans for dinner also from Tessa.- She’s a star.

Blimey, look who’s back! I have been bowled over this week with how kind and generous people are with sharing their produce. I used to share our plums in our old house, now it’s nice to be given fruit and pop it in the freezer for Winter.

  1. Yum was my first reaction to the opening image! I think the catbird will be a regular fixture πŸ™‚

  2. Your cake looks delicious, and so does all the produce you have put up for the winter! Also, love your resident catbird πŸ™‚

  3. You paid it forward all those years, and now it’s coming back to you! πŸ‘πŸ» That cat! THey really do think they own the world don’t they?!

  4. Nice cat house! πŸ™‚

  5. Gardeners are such generous folk, always sharing their wisdom and advice, excess fruit and veg, and cuttings. 😊

doesn’t look like ant birds ever use that bird shelter ^^
    lovely looking cake!

  8. That’s more cooking than I’m want to do, ever! So industrious. I like the idea of exchanging foods. That cat has claimed the feeder all for himself. Great expression!

  9. Your pictures literally made my heart race — I love posts like this! πŸ™‚

That cat is so funny. He totally looks like he owns the place!

  10. I love the whole food swap thing; here, it’s lemons, passionfruit, bananas, etc. That chocolate cake looks pretty yummy, too.

  11. Weird looking bird. πŸ˜‰
I love your food pictures!! It’s so good if you get things for the winter. πŸ™‚

    • Thank you- we need to get the chest freezer in the garage up and running too, ready to hunker down for the Winter. I think he’s an odd bird too.

  12. I would have thought that sharing was good. Saves having too much and even better if its mutual. Maybe you need a collective; everyone plans to grow something different. πŸ˜€

  13. That cat picture is iconic. Reminds me of when Edward was a kitten and used to lie in the birdbath (supposedly sleeping but actually with one eye open). The birds, however, weren’t fooled.
I love rhubarb and can’t even remember when I last had it. My gran (Nanna) used to make apple and rhubarb crumble.

  14. This problem we have at the moment is curbing the sharing in Melbourne..no visitors allowed…..I did see someone pass a bag of something to another walker in the park the other day so assumed they were β€˜sharing’

Is the pussy yours or Mr Nobodies? Nice lucky black colour!

    • You can share here as long as you deliver and stand back! No idea who the moggy belongs too – there seem to be be four that walk along in front of our house and into the trees.
