I have had a wonderful week, which is now going onto wonderful things this weekend, so I will be briefer than usual.
The second fairy is complete, and a more demure indiviual than you know who. Her temporary name is Amelia.
Now I did say demure, but, BUT she decided to go out for a while.
Butter wouldn’t melt. Then she met up with Morgana.
Look at the attitude on her. Anyway next time I looked Amelia had removed her token from the board.
Moragna is just too much.
I have the most enormous fun with these fairies. The best bit is letting imagination run riot- in this case with the necklace and the earings- crocheted from some gold thread. Cost of making Amelia- nothing- all yarn and bits and bobs from my boxes of goodies.
So there we are my total output for the week.
I wondered what is the most fun you had with a project and what makes it fun?
Have a great weekend and
Be Happy,
Cathyx

Love the fairy dolls, they’re great x
Thank you
Oh dear, fairyland is growing! I can’t imagine what those two will get up to. I’ve been having fun making bright and cheerful fabric pumpkins.
Your pumpkins do look rather good.
Thank you, Cathy!
I love the character your fairies have. So much fun!
Thank you.
I’m late!
Oh the new Fairy is delightful!! I love her ears, her hair, and her legs remind me of my 11 year old’s tights. We buy her the cutest tights like that!
I can imagine the fun you are having with those two! And yes more would add to the fun! Maybe a boy/suitor? I never want to grow up!
A boy fairy would be rather good I think and I have the perfect hair.
I love your fairies! Have just ordered the book and can’t wait to start! I’ve lots of stash and bits and bobs to use which should make an interesting fairy. Have not had much success with knitted figures before and usually stick to crochet ones but you’ve inspired me to have another go.
They are great fun to make , and each one is so different. Just enjoy making them.
We’re back to summer temps in the high 80’s and today’s 95 so not much planned except quiet survival. And plenty of cold water. π
Oh my, that’s hot.
Friday was 95. . . . took me the weekend to recover.
Amelia is beautiful! You are so talented!
Thank you, she was fun to make.
Pleased to meet Amelia. Demure and pretty with the sparkles. My fairy lacks face, ears, hair and wings!
Ah the hard bit! The ears were fine this time, but the face is a strange shape and I redid it once, I think more stuffing would have helped. But too late the hair was on which is my favourite bit.
Just done ears for mine. Tried a different approach. Much better. Face is trickier!
I was definitely an Amelia growing up — but then a Morgana joined our staff at work, and hi-jinks ensued! Nothing really bad, but I had never had so much fun in my life, just doing ordinary work-related tasks. π
I bet, it is always good to have a co-conspirator.
She started all the conspiring, I was just a loyal sidekick. I’m sure that’s what Amelia would say too. π
Uh oh….I think you should separate them while you are out and about this weekend! As for fun projects, these mittens have been lots of fun, but they don’t talk back like your fairies!
They are both in some wrapping paper and I can hear the protests, it’s time for them to go and be fettled.
If those two join forces, I think the world should watch out! They look like such fun to make, as if you’re creating a little personality out of scratch. As much as I enjoy the projects I do, I can’t say any of them are as much silly fun as your fairies are!
π
I think I could get addicted to fairy making!
Amelia looks like butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth ^^
Enjoy your wonderful weekend!
Not sure what we’ll be up to. There’s another local carboot sale on Sunday so, if I get up early enough, we’ll be heading out for a rummage. I’m still recovering from shingles though and not getting much sleep at night due to nerve pain which means I’m something of a late riser at the moment.
Oh Claire, shingles are horrid, I hope you still get to enjoy your good rummage on Sunday.
Oh no! Feel better soon! (((HUG)))
the character in your fairies is just a delight!
Thank you.
When a good girl goes bad, she goes really wild. You watch that Amelia, I reckon she’ll give Morgana a run for her money!
I think she might, after all she was the one that needed the lie down. Morgana was her usual sassy self.
Your fairies are delightful and all fairies are a little bit naughty I think. I had a delightful day today cleaning the house π Now it is sparkling I can spend the weekend making more cards and maybe even a little bit of Christmas shopping……
Oh no not Christmas shopping, I’ll allow card making needs to commence but not present shopping!
I’m going to have a go at making some beeswax wraps for food storage that are such a good idea and also so expensive to buy….. I need to chose some pretty fat quarters to make ’em with……. it’s that kind of Christmas shopping
That sort of shopping is allowed! Enjoy.
Thank you
You say ‘demure’ but she has a very slightly crafty look about her – at least Morgana is up front with her attitude. I think you need to make a Chief Fairy next to keep them in check.
I often have fun photographing the dog collars I make to raise funds for our old and disabled dogs’ home here in France. I sometimes use my own dogs as models, or toy or figurines. My favourite is where I have a little plush dog cocking his leg up against a collar – well, it makes me laugh.
Enjoy your weekend x
Ha!
Bad plush dog! But very funny! These creations of ours take on a complete life of their own. I love the idea of a chief fairy, could be just what is needed.
Love the sparkles Cathy. Those two are obviously having a lot of fun. Can’t wait to hear about your weekend.
I am going to a Balkan Dancing workshop on Sunday – hmmmm – interesting!
Is it like Russian dancing? Try not to topple over!
Love these Cathy… I do love photographing characters and allowing them to come to life! ππ
It has been great fun, and I have more that I want to make. The hair is the key.
