Wool, Wiltshire and All Manner of Wonderful Things!

Out and About.

I had a rather good walk last weekend. I did it backwards. Amazing how different it all looks when you come across a familiar landscape from another angle.

Bit of felling going on here for a fire break I reckon.

Sunlight catching the conifers. So many different greens when I stopped to look properly.

I will never tire of looking at the sky through tree branches. Something rather majesticย  I think. The feeling of ” bigger than me”.

And finally a view over the valley to the moors beyond the forest, and if you kept going you would reach the sea at Whitby.

The sun is shining again today, where shall I go?

  1. All lovely photos, but I especially love the soft colours in the last one!

  2. What beautiful views! I love going through the woods close to us, it seems they are real way to see the changes in the seasons. And they look so different depending on when you go! Thanks for taking us on your walk!

  3. Enjoyed going on your walk with you. Looking forward to summer and my own walks!

  4. Gorgeous views. So stunning to see it all. Thank you for sharing. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. What a difference a sunny day makes, huh? We’re to have sun today and I really need to get outside, even though it’ll be cold. Your photos inspire me!

  6. Did you walk backwards or do the route backwards?!

  7. Doing a walk backwards is just the sort of thing I’d do and get myself lost. My sense of direction is terrible.

  8. Cathy: I do love looking at the sky through branches as well. It doesn’t seem like I take the time to do that very thing often, though. “Sigh” Thanks for making me think about looking at the sky. Have a great week! Hugs, Tamara

  9. I also thought you meant you did it walking backwards. I kept wondering why you didn’t fall over….

  10. The last picture is just stunning! We have a variety of pines at our summer property. I need to learn more about what kind each one is. They are fascinating. You have some fascinating pines in your photos! As a child, seeing pictures/movies of Britain with the vast views of landscape for miles, it looked to me like there were no forests! Imagine my surprise to eventually find and see the beauty of your forests! ;o) Beautiful!

  11. Ha, ha! At first I thought you meant you walked backwards ๐Ÿ˜€ Ah me!! I do that too – love to stand under and gaze up. Trees are such amazing beings!!

  12. You’re so right – it does look very different when you do it backwards. Those pines are very tall!

  13. Lovely photos

  14. Love that last picture especially! Enjoy that sunshine for me!

  15. Gorgeous views! Love the sky and branches.

  16. Lovely to have a walk that makes your mind expand, and your heart sing.

  17. Ditto re sky through branches. I’ve been known to lose my balance ๐Ÿ˜† It can be very calming and at other times like I’ve been twirling on one spot. Mesmerising.

  18. Lovely walk – I’m with you on looking at the sky through branches. Where ever you go today, please take us with you! ๐Ÿ˜‰
