Thank you Sewchet for once again organising our wonderful Stitching Santa. We have been away in London over Christmas and as I wanted to give the parcel I received my full concentration I waited to this afternoon to open my gift. Carefully I took off the brown tape and the labels because I loved the box all by itself.
Inside was a wonderful array of gifts.
I really, really should have guessed who my Santa was from the box alone.
But this lovely bag told me that Sewchet herself was my Santa. The bag is lined and very roomy, and is a perfect project bag.
And beneath that package lay all these gifts and yes chocolate money. There was one in the crochet bag too which I have just eaten. So now I knew who Santa was I opened the card.
A hand-made card, just lovely. Cross stitch cards and Handy Snips and look at the yarn from a Zwartbies Sheep.

Well this cute? Sorry a bit out of focus.
Then came the case made from the upcycled cross stitch picture, which is even prettier in real life and a real inspiration to me to rescue cross stitch items from charity shops. It is lovely.
Then came a crochet pincushion and another hank of yarn. This is Aran weight from a British Blue Faced Leicester Sheep. So soft and squishy.
Then a crochet book full of super designs and
a magazine with some fabulous patterns which I know Little Miss F and I are going to love.
So that is why I think I have been a very, very good girl this year. Tomorrow I will share what I sent to me Secret Santa recipient.
Thank you Sheila for creating and organising this wonderful Stitching Secret Santa and also for my truly amazing gifts. I am somewhat overcome, so I think a nice magazine and a chocolate coin is in order.

All just perfect gifts for you – I bet the original maker of the cross stitch would be chuffed to know her work was rescued and ended up with somebody who will treasure it.
I think the original maker would be totally thrilled with Sheila’s work, and pleased that it has featured in our blogs and has attracted the admiration it deserves. I shall treasure it.

The bag is a real cracker, and the yarn is just wonderful. I shall be turning my mind what to make with it, possibly a hat.

You were the obvious choice for the recycled cross stitch bag – if I hadn’t drawn you out of the hat, I would have sent it to you anyway! It’s unlucky to gift a bag or purse without including a coin inside isn’t it…or is that just a West Country superstition? So glad you were both surprised and pleased with your parcel and hope you will join in again next year:)
Whooppee there is to be a next year, yes please count me in. I am heart broken when I see embroideries and cross stitches in charity shops, I am even sad when I see samplers in antique shops, the thought that relatives don’t value their loved ones work. And you did such an amazing job in rescuing the little house, cleaning it and upcycling it and then it became mine. I shall treasure the purse in the way it deserves. My Mum always taught me to put money in a purse if I gave one, so a Liverpudlian tradition too. I love the chocolate coins. Thank you so much.xx

Oh, what lovely gifts! I really enjoyed reading about some of these prezzies over on her blog. I love that cross-stitched pouch and crocheted bauble! I was the other recipient of Sewchet’s lovely sewing #stitchingsanta and I’m in the process of writing about them. We are very lucky!
