Wool, Wiltshire and All Manner of Wonderful Things!

I think I may have established that we are not an orderly couple. I for one am organised chaos. Mr E is disorganised chaos. But we get stuff done somehow, sometimes, eventually! We both had organised Mothers!! Our sons are quite well organised too.

However, I am full of admiration for other people’s orderliness. Such as the people whose cottage we holidayed in Sussex. At the very neat entrance to the cottage was the most orderly herb garden. I loved it.

There is a different herb in each of those neatly box hedged areas.  Fantastic. I am just glad we didn’t choose disorderly as a prompt, so I showed you my herbs, which grow in three different and totally illogical parts of the garden.

Looking forward to seeing lots of orderly pictures this week. Please leave a link in the comments below.

Next weeks prompt is SHADOW!

Happy Snapping!

  1. Hi Cathy, Here is my late ORDERLY contribution https://haikuhound.wordpress.com/2017/09/24/1612/

  2. I’m so glad I’m not the only disorderly individual involved in this challenge. I’m also the child of an orderly mother who despairs of my chaos!!

  3. A very fitting image Cathy.

  4. All very pretty but how do you actually get to the herbs to pick and use them? Style over practicality? I bet yours are accessible and used.

Love that garden! It must have been heavenly. Thank you for sharing.

On another note, I am interested in participating (when I can) in this photo challenge – especially next week’s – but I don’t know the rules. Can you or someone else please give me a few hints? Thanks!

    • Oh it would be lovely to have you join us. Wild Daffodil and I drew up the list of prompts. The full list can be seen on the One a week photo challenge 2017 page above, but I always remind people each week of the next one. The week begins on a Tuesday and ends on Monday night, and you can post a picture anytime in that week. If you leave a link here or at Wild Daffodils in the comments or both, then Wild Daffodil does a monthly round up of everyone’s picture. And that’s about it. It should be just one picture, but from time to time we all share more than one. Not rules at all really, it’s for fun! Wild daffodil adds a haiku as well as some others that do, as part of another challenge, but it’s not part of this challenge! Any questions, please just ask, and I look forward to seeing your photos! Happy Snapping!

Thank you, nanacathy! I’ll check it out. If it’s okay to participate when I can (I can’t promise every week), I’d love to!

    • be wonderful to have you on board , every week is certainly not needed. have fun.

  6. Amazing! I too admire organisation, as on a good day I could be classified as being of the organised chaos mind, although lately it has become the disorganised chaos mind!

    • Ha, I know the problem! I have heaps and bags of stuff, that’s as organised as I get. My husband just has stuff that could be anywhere and most likely exactly where he left it when he last used something .

  7. I love this orderly photo…haven’t got much in that vein….maybe I’ll repost a photo from my sewing room clean out…..

  8. That is impressive in it’s orderliness. As a Virgo, I require orderliness. Which is why I spent an hour this morning looking for the print out of something I wrote and need today. Finally realizing it was quicker to just find the file on the laptop and print another. I’ll strive for more order tomorrow. 😦 Creative minds are never tidy. The saying on the frame of my car license plate. Dear heart, give me at least an hours warning before you drop in so I can hide the mess. At least some of it. 🙂

  9. So pretty! I wish my herb garden was so “orderly”.

  10. Now that’s orderly! and on the opposite end of the spectrum to my way of gardening.
I did a mental tour of my house to think if there was any corner of it at all that could be considered for this week’s subject – nada!nothing!zilch!
Hmmmmmm ……… gonna have to search through the archives for this one.

That sounds like me and my husband – organised and disorganised chaos. Love the new header photo too!

  12. very orderly! I love the idea of a herb garden.

  13. I thought ‘orderly’ was somebody who worked in a hospital. I don’t know of any other meaning 😉

    • Well that sent me to the dictionary- Orderly- methodically arranged or inclined, regular, obedient to discipline, not unruly!

      • Or
A medical orderly (also known as a ward assistant or nurse assistant) is a hospital attendant whose job consists of assisting medical and nursing staff with various nursing and medical interventions.
(I was just joking about not knowing the other meaning as I’m not at all orderly, in the first sense, at all)

      • Aren’t they called Matron these days? LOL
