The Reception venue changed three weeks before my son Mr J married the former Ms M. At times it rained. But did any of this spoil the day. No it didn’t. This is probably the most informal, and finally relaxed , fun wedding I have ever been too. Without more ado here are the photos, oh and by the way, there was no official photographer, no speeches , bar a thank you from my son, and dogs came too. So with thanks to Mr T, Mrs T , Mr G, Mrs N and Mr E with just three of my pictures, this is the wedding with a village fair theme. Thank you Shipton under Wychwood.
Best day of 2017, yet.

Congratulations! Wishing the happy couple a long and wonderful life together! 🙂
It looks like you all had a wonderful day Cathy.
Oh it certainly was!
Thanks so much for sharing the day! Wonderful photos, and beautiful smiles and expressions!! Makes me happy just looking at the photos, everyone was having such a good time!
It is absolutely my pleasure ! It was an excellent day. Thank you.
Gorgeous, all around! The bunting, the bunting: so fun!
Congratulations!
Thank you, it was fun.
This looks like the funnest wedding ever! What happy faces, all around–pure joy! I love knowing what you look like and I think my favorite photo is the one with the young couple dodging confetti!
Yes that is one of my favourite pictures too. It was raining at that point, but who cared! It was huge fun, honestly it was one of the best weddings ever.
What a wonderful day you all had. Lovely to see the photographs and all the Bunting really adds to the sense of happy celebration
Doesn’t it just, I thought those M&J lights would look tacky but they didn’t, the whole room buzzed with laughter, chatter and music.
Looks lovely. The perfect day. 🙂 x
It was, thank you.
Oh, how wonderful! Takes me back four years to our wedding which was in our village hall, also decked with 100m of homemade bunting. No speeches and very relaxed, just like this. Bride’s face says it all: so happy to be married and not a stressed face in sight. Fabulous! Thanks SO much for sharing all these great photos which were much anticipated:)
Thanks so much for this comment, you have so understood how great the day was. And final cherry on the cake, it was cheaper than the original venue ! I did sort of go on about it a bit didn’t I!!
My hair is very fine, shall we say, but it made me stand very tall so it didn’t fall off. MY SIL, lady in orange at the Reception picture, managed to keep her’s in place all night including through some very energetic dancing!
What fun – I especially like the archery picture. Oh, and the hat is impressive!
That is Mr E’s neice’s husband in the archery picture with his eldest daughter. It’s safe to say he enjoyed the day! thanks for spotting the hat! Fascinators are not me it turns out, but at least I have worn one now.
My hair is too thin to keep a fascinator in place so if I have a hat it has to be a ‘proper’ hat. My mother always refers to fascinators as ‘an apology for a hat’… you can tell she’s not impressed with them!
This looks like the best kind of wedding! Everybody looks like they had an amazing time and the bride and groom look radiantly happy. Some great memories have been made!
Lynne you are so right, they were so very happy, as were we all. So many people arrived early to help set up the reception. My arms still ache from carrying flowers, and for some strnage reason was entrusted to carry the cake. But so worth it.
it looks like a wonderful day in spite of all the angst leading up to it. BUT WHERE IS THE HAT? 🙂
Adore the bunting and the “tent” in the hall, it is really lovely.
It was a fascinator. I wore it for the service only, you can just about see it in the picture of me doing the reading. It proved to feel rather slippery and spent the evening hooked on the back of my chair.
The indoor tent was brilliant. A band of village volunteers put the roof up the night before and the walls went up at 1pm after the children’s party.
I had to go back and look – what I can see of it, it was lovely. 🙂 And of course, you look lovely in it and that pretty dress in my favorite colors. 🙂
A beautiful bride, a gorgeous day, and a fantastic theme. What a happy day for everyone. Who needs professional photographers? We didn’t have one either at ours, and I think the photos are much happier and more natural as a result.
Thanks Kate. Between us we seem to have covered everything photo wise. It was a whirlwind of a day, but a very happy one. Some of us are still on a complete high.
A lovely wedding will do that!
You probably don’t realize this, but Sew, Knit, and Natter Friday is one of the few things that keeps me oriented as to what day of the week it is, and when you missed this last Friday, I was a little discombobulated. But now I see why! What a fabulous wedding! The bunting looked wonderful and I love the mix of flowers too. Thank you for sharing, and it was well worth my being a little disoriented on Friday to get to experience this wedding today. 🙂
Ah sorry about that, but there was virtually no Knitting last week, and certainly no sewing! We weren’t even here at home! back on Friday, promise. It was a super wedding.
Congratulations to one and all. Looks like a fun day for all. Long life and happiness to the lovely bride and groom:-)
Thank you so much.
This looks like such a fun and fab day and I’m so glad it all came together. I LOVE the archery photo, and the cake of cheese is inspired (wish I’d thought of that for my wedding!!). Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. The archery picture is great, taken by my bil, Mr G, who is a semi pro.
Beautiful pictures!
Thanks Deborah.
It all turned out fabulously – the bride is beautiful and the groom is proud and the guests all look happy – fabulous! Thanks for sharing the happy day ❤
It was touch and go to the end. groom had 15 minutes to get changed after we set everything up. We collected the cake after the service via our hotel en route to the reception venue, and Bride’s Uncle was 10 mintes late! But yes it was a very happy celebration.
And you have to have the stories of the near disasters to tell the children and grandchildren ….. 🙂
It looks like a wonderful time was had by all! Especially the three in the car. LOL. Congrats.
Ah, my neices three little ones, such sweeties. It was a great day.
Congratulations! It sounds like a perfect day, everyone looking wonderful!
Thank you Catherine, it was terrific.
sounds like the perfect day!
Exhausting, but yes, perfect.
Wonderful! Congrats to all, everyone looks so relaxed. Beautiful bunting! Beautiful Cathy, beautiful couple. ❤️
Thanks WD, and thank you for the woolly bunting which was in the entrance, soon to be relocated to their new conservatory!
So lovely – their happiness is in every photo. Love that ‘cheese cake’ Thanks for sharing.
The cheese cake was amazing! I should have said that the outside caterers were absolutely brilliant. The food was delicious.
Just lovely. Great seeing the photos. Congratulations to your son and daughter in law. The bunting looked very jolly. Best wishes to you all 🙂
Thanks so much Shirley.
