Scrap Happy- June

Still having loads of fun with my scraps of fabric.  I made a little dress for Miss F’s doll to match her dress.

Wonder if the guarantee on the elastic I used still holds good?

Price 1/6 i.e. before decimalization!!

Some felt brooches.

The idea for these came from a D&K book called The Crafters Year. I have an idea for some different ones. Finally this picture.

I confess I bought the bird button but that was all! Took me ages to decide what to do with it. Eventually I settled for mounting it on card ( Back of a notebook) and covering the back with white felt.

I think it will look good as part of my Easter decorations next year. Inspiration from a book called Sewing for Spring by Lynette Anderson. The hexie quilt continues to grow slowly, I will show that again next month as the rows get longer progress seems slower.

  4. Loved all the uses for your scraps and the cute button. The fairy bag was my favorite. I need to find some of that elastic with it’s guarantee. 🙂

  5. What lovely ideas to use up scraps! The elastic made me smile – it surely has to be a charity shop find, you can’t have had it in your stash all this time?!

    • I think I probably inherited from my Mum or step Mum, but goodness knows how long it’s been lurking at the bottom of my sewing box!
